The hows and whys of my pricing
Prices:
If you are shopping for Ericofons, I'm sure you've seen the pricing on other web
sites and even on eBay. So why are my phones so much more? It all boils down to the old
adage "You get what you pay for".
You can get phones on ebay for far less than I sell them for. But eBay has also been my
main source for many years. I can tell you first hand, only about 3 in 5 are sellable, the
rest I strip for parts. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy from eBay, there certainly are
good finds there. I will even offer my advice on auctions if you ask. I'm not here to
compete with anyone.
What you are getting
for the money:
So just what are you getting for the money you spend here? I have been doing this
for nearly ten years and have refurbished somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 Ericofons
to date. Even though I warranty these phones for life, I have never repaired a phone sent
out more than a few months earlier. Properly refurbished, these phones are good for
decades. My phones also look like new, are never painted (unless sold that way), use 100%
original factory parts (except for wear out items like gaskets, transmitters, and cords).
So in the end, what are you getting from me? You're getting a highly experienced refurbish
job on a phone that will look and work like new. And if you don't like it for any reason,
just return it for a full refund.
Finding Ericofons:
I rely on the secondary market (used) for finding Ericofons. It's been 30 years
since these were massed produced. There is no wholesale supply of them anymore. In most
cases, I am buying these one or two at a time.
Multiple Purchases:
The reason for discounting multiple items is because costs are less when mass
produced items are ordered in greater numbers. With that being said, you will understand
why I do not offer discounts on multiple purchases. My costs on selling 100 Ericofons is
the same as one Ericofon.
There is somewhat of a discount when ordering multiples in that you save on shipping
costs.
Restocking:
If I am out of a color or model, I have no idea when I'll get more in. Some are easy to
find, some may be many months between finds. The best thing to do is get on my waiting
list for colors and models that are out.
