Western Electric Trimline Adapters
Early models of the Western Electric Trimline had a funky cord that was not interchangeable with any other kind of phone. The plugs on the ends were very different from the more common handset and line cord plugs. Since these cord are becoming increasingly difficult to find in any decent condition the phones can look like new with a good cleaning, yet have a dirty, damaged, and stretched out cord on it. The adapters available on this page fit into the sockets on the phone to change from the Trimline cord to a standard handset and line cord. The handset adapters simply push into place with no tools. For inserting the line cord adapter you're going to have to take the cover off the base and wire it into place. This is a very simple procedure. The two screws that hold the cover in place are under the number card (front middle of the base) and simply replace the old socket attaching the wires where they go. Just match up colors and that's it.
