Phones from the 1920's
and 1930's
The telephones from this period were two piece phones,
the "Desk Stand" and the "Subset". The desk stand was the part of the
phone you use, dial, receiver, transmitter, and switch. The subset
contained the critical components to run the phone, condenser, induction
coil, and ringer.
The phones you see on these pages are all fully wired with subsets and
ready to use. There is a cord tethering the desk stand to the subset,
and a cord to plug the subset into a wall jack.
